The 2021 Super Bowl odds changed dramatically as the nation learned how COVID-19 affected gameplay throughout the season. The NFL powered through the 2020-21 schedule, however, sometimes rescheduling games for Tuesdays and even Wednesdays in reaction to positive COVID-19 tests. “With the Super Bowl just a few days away, novelty game props and player prop single bets are coming in fast and furious, indicating a surge in casual bets by fans stuck at home from the snow. Super Bowl halftime prop bets explained. The Super Bowl halftime show is must-watch TV, even for casual football fans. The midway mark of the NFL championship game is a spectacle just begging to.

For pockets of viewers, the best part of Super Bowl LV won't be determined by the winner of the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Instead, they will be focused on the handfuls of prop bets that are only available via services such as BetOnline.ag once every February.

Super Bowl LV between Kansas City and Tampa Bay will have a familiar look and feel on several levels, despite the strangeness of a far-less-than-full stadium because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Like each NFL contest, the upcoming Super Bowl will feature a plethora of in-game prop bets involving quarterbacks, receivers and pass-rushers. The real fun, however, is in the entertainment aspects of the big game that don't involve players. What commercial will first air? Who will say what at halftime? These are the types of prop bets found only on Super Sundays.

(Lines accurate on BetOnline.ag as of Jan. 28).

First offensive play

Much of the discussion about Super Bowl LV is about the showdown between six-time Super Bowl quarterback Tom Brady and reigning Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes, so one may rush to hit the +105 bet on the first offensive play of the game being a pass. To steal from Lee Corso: Not so fast, my friends.

Tampa Bay has 'Playoff Lenny' Leonard Fournette in the backfield, while rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire is already a proven play-maker for the Chiefs. The -135 for a run being the game's first offensive play isn't great value, but it may ultimately prove to be the safest prop bet available.

A score in the first 2:30 of the game: Yes (+550) or No (-900)

Have you seen these offenses? Brady needed roughly four minutes to drive down the field for his scripted opening drive against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game, and Mahomes engineered a game-winning drive versus the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 22 in under 90 seconds. Thus, 2:30 is an eternity against either signal-caller fresh into a contest.

Total points by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker: Under 8.5 (-130) or Over 8.5 (+100)

This one gets tricky when you consider two-point conversions. For example, Mason Crosby would've hit the over on Jan. 24 had he been given the opportunity to kick after every Green Bay touchdown. Chiefs coach Andy Reid is a gambler but could find himself playing it safe if his team is in the lead throughout the Super Bowl. How you bet here may be determined by which team you think will win.

Tom Brady over 39.5 passes attempts (-125) or under (-105)

Brady's Bucs held a 28-10 lead early into the third quarter against Green Bay, and that papered over the fact that the 43-year-old was dreadful for the bulk of the second half. Still, he finished that outing with 36 total passes. Unless Mahomes is uncharacteristically off, Brady should take to the air early and often.

How many players will be sidelined due to COVID-19? Under 1.5 (-700) or Over (+400)

With any luck, this will be the first and only time COVID-19 is ever mentioned among Super Bowl prop bets. Both the Chiefs and Bucs have made it through the playoffs without enduring even a hint of an outbreak, but Super Bowl week brings with it different kinds of distractions, even during a pandemic. We don't want to single out anybody, let alone a certain tight end known for enjoying his fair share of parties, but maybe keep an eye on TMZ Sports headlines before placing any money on this one.

OK, enough about the game. Let's get into why you're all really here.

Coin toss: Heads or Tails (-105 either way)

According to Odds Shark, tails has hit in 29 of the 54 previous Super Bowl games. 'Tails never fails' is a fun saying, but are you willing to put serious money on it?

Will The Weeknd first be seen with sunglasses at halftime: Yes (-140) or No (+100)

Florida and sunglasses seem to go together as perfectly as Mahomes connecting with tight end Travis Kelce in the end zone for a touchdown. While it will be dark outside by the time The Weeknd takes the stage, he could find himself blinded by the stadium lights to the point that he requires some eye protection.

We'll see ourselves out.

Different Types Of Bets For Super Bowl

You actually can't go wrong with any of these and could even save some money by hedging your bets. Scared money doesn't make money, though, and Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade isn't going to sell itself during the cold winter months.

How many times will 'kindergarten' be said during the broadcast: Under 0.5 times (-900) or over (+500)

For context:

This feels like a sucker bet, almost like BetOnline.ag knows something we don't. Logic suggests the subject will come up during Mahomes' opening drive, especially if the camera shows an irritated Brady watching the action from the sidelines.

And last but certainly not least:

Super Bowl MVP

Mahomes (-125) is the clear favorite, with Brady checking in at decent value (+225) in second. 'Playoff Lenny' is there at +3300, and the previously mentioned Kelce sits at +1200 and is practically guaranteed to see multiple red-zone targets come his way.

Former disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Le'Veon Bell is reportedly healthy and ready to play for the Chiefs, and his +15000 odds could serve as the figurative chip on his shoulder that propels him to an MVP trophy.

Point Spread Betting Super Bowl 2021

The point spread betting is a popular option for Super Bowl betting. With this, a bookmaker will offer a number of points that are added or subtracted from a team to create an even betting field. For example, the point spread for the upcoming event may be Team NFC -3.0 and Team AFC +3.0.
The team with the – sign is the favourite. With this type of betting, the favourite team will need to win the game by three or more points for the bet to win and the underdog would have to lose by three points or less.

Moneyline: Bet on Winner of Super Bowl

When considering a Moneyline wager when you are planning to bet on the Super Bowl, you will be betting on who the winner will be. These bets can be placed far in advance of the event. In fact, when you bet early, you will find the odds to be higher. This is because qualifying stages have not yet been completed. If you want to place a Moneyline bet on the Super Bowl, check out our tips and predictions on who is the favourite to win.
Over the past five years, the winners of the Super Bowl have been:

Totals: Combined Score Betting

Totals betting, or over under betting, is the second most popular form of bet placed on NFL games. When you are ready to bet on the Super Bowl, you may want to consider these options. You can find them at many Super Bowl betting sites and they offer some great odds.

With this form of betting, the bookmaker will set a specific number of points that they believe the teams will score in the game. When you wager, you will be able to bet on the total number of points scored by both teams combined and will choose whether that amount will be over or under the predicted amount.

Different Types Of Bets For Super Bowl Projections

These bets are not as complicated as they seem and you can find more tips and predictions on how to bet on top goalscorer here. Here, you can also learn how to bet on the Super Bowl using strategies for over under betting.

Props: Betting on Super Bowl

When you engage in Super Bowl betting, you do not always have to bet on who will win or who will lose. With prop bets, you will be able to wager on various player milestones or events that happen in the game. These do not always go hand in hand with the outcome of the event.

Some of the popular prop bets to enjoy include rushing yards, touchdowns, special teams, game MVP, and other things that can happen during the game.

Prop bets make betting fun and interesting. You will even be able to bet on things like who will win the coin toss, the colour of Gatorade poured over the winning coaches head, or who the MVP will thank when giving an acceptance speech. The options are endless, which is why this has become one of the top ways to bet on the Super Bowl.

Handicap Betting on Super Bowl

If you want to learn how to bet on the Super Bowl, you will want to learn about handicapping. Handicap betting is simply line betting and the act of handicapping is levelling the playing field for the teams in the event. Advantages will be given to the teams that are stronger so that both teams have equal chances of winning.

This type of betting is not too confusing, though it may seem so to those who are learning how to bet on the Super Bowl. Luckily, there are some great tutorials online that can be of use.

Super Bowl 2021 Betting: Favourites and Predictions

The early favourites to win the 2021 Super Bowl were The New England Patriots. However, this successful team has been knocked out and is not a Super Bowl contender. At this time, the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers are the favoured teams to play in the Super Bowl.

Some other teams that are gaining attention during playoff rounds include the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers.

Based on performance, the Seattle Seahawks may also be a good choice to head to the event and possibly even be the next Super Bowl winner. Don’t rule out the Vikings though. Even though they are the underdog, they are still a strong team that can pull out a few wins and make it to the big game.
