1. Phil Hawes vs Nassourdine Imavov

The featured bout for the prelims is an exciting middleweight bout between Hawes and Imavov. Hawes is a DWCS alumni with his only UFC appearance coming in UFC 254. He won via KO against Jacob Malkoun.

Imavov will make his second UFC appearance as well after earning a decision victory in his last outing both fighters possess the same professional record of 9-2.

Prediction- Phil Hawes by TKO

2. Yanan Wu vs Joselyne Edwards

Chinese fighter Wu will welcome Edwards into the UFC at UFC on ABC 1. The bantamweight contest will be Wu’s 4th UFC appearance. She has a record of 1-2 with the promotion currently.

Edwards on the other hand is a proven finisher, finishing 8 of his 9 bouts so far. She has 5 wins by KO/TKO and 3 by submission.

Prediction- Yanan Wu by decision.

3.Carlos Felipe vs Justin Tafa

Carlos Felipe is coming off a decision win over Yorgan De Castro. This will be his 3rd appearance in the promotion. Tafa lost to De Castro by KO at UFC 243. But he has turned it around with a knockout win over Juan Adams at UFC 247.

Prediction- Justin Tafa by KO

4. David Zawada vs Ramazan Emeev

Zawada will fight Dagestani fighter Ramazan Emeev in a welterweight clash. Zawada will end his year-long hiatus from the sport after choking out Abubakar Nurmagomedov back in 2019. He will make his 4th UFC appearance against a 5-fight UFC veteran Emeev.

Prediction- Ramazan Emeev by decision

5. Sarah Moras vs Vanessa Melo

Moras, a women’s bantamweight contender, has managed only 3 wins in her 8-fight long UFC career. Her opponent, Melo, is yet to rack up a win in the organization despite having fought thrice.

Both the fighters will look to change the course of their UFC careers with an impressive showing on the first card of 2021.

Prediction- Vanessa Melo by decision

6. Jacob Kilburn vs Austin Lingo

Kilburn and Lingo both lost their UFC debut. Kilburn lost to Billy Quarantillo back in 2019. Lingo, on the other hand, dropped a decision to Youssef Zalal at UFC 247.

The two promising featherweights will look to turn the tides on their respective careers. They have the stage set for them on UFC’s first event on the ABC network.

Prediction- Austin Lingo by decision

The Fight Night event will also be the first event on the newly inaugurated Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The UFC starts the year off with an exciting card, and fans cannot wait.

Ufc Fight Night 143 Prelim Predictions 2019

For all my fellow UFC lovers, we have been blessed with a UFC Heavyweight Main Event in Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis on this Saturday, February 20th. Throughout this entire card, we have several favorites that are going to rock the night. So, for this week, I have created a parlay and included some prop picks as well.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Tom Aspinall

UFC Heavyweight Bout – Preliminary Card

Saturday, February 20, 2021 – 09:05 PM EST at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas

Andrei Arlovski

Andrei “the Pitbull” Arlovski is a Belarusian-American mixed martial artist that began his professional MMA career in 1999. He has competed for Strikeforce, World Series of Fighting (WSOF), Affliction, EliteXC, ONE FC, M-1 Challenge, and currently the UFC where he is also a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. He has many other accomplishments from throughout the years other than the UFC – he is the first Belarusian champion in UFC history, has won Fight of the Night two times, Performance of the Night once, the most fights and wins in UFC heavyweight history, and also the highest takedown defense in UFC heavyweight history.

Tom Aspinall

Ufc Fight Night 143 Prelim Predictions Tonight

Tom Aspinall is an English mixed martial artist currently fighting in the UFC heavyweight division. He made his first UFC debut recently in July 2020 – at UFC on ESPN 14: Whittaker vs Till – against Jake Collier where he won via TKO in the first round.

Prediction

For this fight, it’s hard to bet against the heavy-favorite in Tom Aspinall. Yes, Andrei Arlovski (30-19-0, 2 NC) is a legendary MMA veteran. But if you look at his fights since 2016, he has 9 losses, 5 wins, and 1 no contest. He has fought against the toughest of the tough in the heavyweight division in Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, Francis Ngannou, Augusto Sakai, and many more. His most recent wins have been in 2020 against Philipe Lins and Tanner Boser.

Yet when we look into the rising Top Aspinall, you will be so amazed. He currently holds a professional record of 9 wins and 2 losses. Of his 9 wins, 8 have been round 1 T/KO’s! That is such an impressive stat to hold. He comes into any fight ready to end it early. Of his last 5 fights, his longest fight was 1 minute and 35 seconds.

There’s no doubt Tom Aspinall is going to enter the ring on Saturday night and try to end the legendary Arlovski as quick as possible. Arlovski has lost 11 times via T/KO which consists of 58% of his losses, and his last KO loss was in 2019 against Jairzinho Rozenstruik. I’m putting Tom Aspinall into a parlay piece with UFC odds at –245. I am also seeking value in the MMA prop for Aspinall to win in Round 1 by KO/TKO or DQ.

UFCPicks:

  • Tom Aspinall –245
  • Tom Aspinall in Round 1 by KO/TKO or DQ +225

Ketlen Vieira vs. Yana Kunitskaya

UFC Women’s Bantamweight Bout – Co-Main

Saturday, February 20, 2021 - 08:05 PM EST at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas

Ketlen Vieira

Ketlen “Fenomeno” Vieira is a Brazilian mixed martial artist currently ranked #6 in the UFC Women’s Bantamweight division. Vieira starting training Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Judo at a very young age, and earned a black belt in both practices. She made her first professional MMA debut in 2014 at Circuito de Lutas: Fight Night 4. She fought under Mr. Cage Championships and won the Mr. Cage bantamweight title.

Yana Kunitskaya

Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya is a Russian mixed martial artist currently ranked #7 in the UFC Women’s Bantamweight division. Similar to Vieira, Kunitskaya began her MMA practice early in her childhood. She started off training in taekwondo, then moved on to competing in hand-to-hand combat where she was undefeated for some time. Her first professional debut was in 2009 at the K-1 World Grand Prix event in Poland where she won via TKO against Magdalena Jarecka. Moving forward in her professional career, she was once the Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion and also won Performance of the Night twice – vs. Tonya Evinger and Raquel Pa’aluhi. She also was the UKADO World Champion in 2007, Russian Taekwondo Champion in 2007, Bushido Women’s MMA Champion in 2010, and Russian Muay Thai Champion in 2011.

Prediction

For the co-main event, Yana Kunitskaya (13-5-0, 1NC) is the underdog with odds at +230. She is 3-2 in her last 5 fights with wins against Lina Lansberg, Marion Reneau, and Julija Stoliarenko – all via unanimous decision. Her last two losses were by TKO against Christiane Justino and Aspen Ladd.

Ketlen Vieira (11-1-0) is 4-1 in her last 5 fights, with her most recent and only loss being in 2019 against Irene Aldana via KO. Her most recent win was against Sijara Eubanks in 2020 – at UFC 253: Adesanya vs. Costa – where she won by unanimous decision. In her last 7 fights, she won 5 via decision and 1 via submission. Vieira is a heavy boxer – take a look at her most recent fight against Eubanks. You can see the strength behind each punch she threw while outclassing Eubanks for 3 rounds.

Kunitskaya tends to be an underrated fighter in my opinion. She is able to control a fight by putting a tremendous amount of pressure on her opponent. But if her opponent can escape the pressure and take the control away from Foxy, then it's game over for her – look at her fight against Cris Cyborg in 2018. I don’t think this fight will end inside the distance. Vieira will remain in control and beat the Russian at her own game. Expect Ketlen Vieira to go the distance. I am adding Ketlen Vieira to my parlay at –270. I am also taking Ketlen Vieira to win by Points at –125.

UFC Picks:

  • Ketlen Vieira –270
  • Ketlen Vieira by Points –125
